The influence of the interface bonding strength on brittle crack propagation in bi-materialstructures is investigated. In this study a crack is set at the vertex of the interface between twojoined dissimilar materials. Competition between several possible crack trajectories isendeavoured, paying special attention to the effect of thermo-elastic and residual stresses oncrack propagation.
