Abstract

The prediction of the behaviour of buried gas pipe lines interested by ductile fracture propagation is examined. Particular emphasis is pointed on
the effects related to the presence of the soil around the tube. A method is proposed, based on Finite Element Analysis, able to study in detail the
phenomenon and to allow realistic predictions.
