Abstract
In the present research work the fracture behaviour of some aluminum matrix composite materials characterized by a high SiC
and Al2O3 particles volume fraction and fabricated by a pressureless infiltration technique hase been studied. Fracture
toughness tests have been carried out and microstructural and fractographic analysis have been performed in order to
investigate the fracture mechanisms. The effect of high temperature on microstructure and fracture toughness has also been
investigated.
